Joey Love is a Texas-based guitarist, singer, and songwriter whose sound blends blues, rock, soul, reggae, and R&B. Originally from Pennsylvania, he moved to Texas in 1979 and has since become a fixture in the Dallas/Fort Worth music scene, performing both as a solo artist and with The Joey Love Trio. His solo acoustic shows have gained wide attention for their soulful, eclectic mix of styles.
Over his career, Joey has performed either with his band, Texas Slim and Wanda sharing the bill with artists such as Eddie Money, Robert Randolph, Billy Cox (Band of Gypsys), Eric Johnson, Etta James, The Blues Brothers, as well as blues greats Bobby “Blue” Bland, and Hubert Sumlin. He has also opened for legends including Johnny Winter, Blue Öyster Cult, Robert Cray, and Jimmie Vaughan. His recordings include two independent releases—Good Phone and Live, Raw and Uncut—and he has co-written and recorded with Wanda King, daughter of the legendary Freddie King.
